December is a hectic month for most people - but for the company Nordthy in Østerild, Christmas is not only busy in the last month of the year.
Since October, Christmas has been on all orders - including over two million Christmas cookies.
- When it comes to Christmas, we are very bound by tradition. It is legal to sin up to Christmas," says co-owner Søren Lukassen.

The company was started in 1966 by Søren Lukassen's father, Børge Lukassen. Under the name B.lukassens Kager, he traveled the country selling cakes and rusks.
- It was a rough life. I was never home, remembers Børge Lukassen.
But Danes' eating habits were changing. Sales of rusks fell significantly, and when the large grocery stores started stocking sweets and cakes themselves, the family behind the wholesale business in Thy decided to change tactics.
- Either we had to close or we had to change completely," says Børge Lukassen.

The company started sourcing its goods from foreign factories and it has made a big difference.
- We are constantly on the lookout for new things and trends in the world. We have the advantage over a manufacturing company that we have maybe 20 or 30 companies that produce for us. That way, we can find some exciting things around the world that can be adapted to the Danish market," says Sales Manager Hans Peter Skjødt.
